This particular bee–one of a zillion buzzing around our planet–is not unnoticed in God’s sight.

I was sitting on a bench outside my office this morning reading the Bible, and just as I finished, I noticed a bumble bee buzzing around a plant right in front of me. Reading and praying outside always gives me the opportunity to look at God’s creation instead of man’s creation inside my office walls. I marvel at all the pieces and parts God created so perfectly to work together and I am always reminded that our world is no accident.

However, what struck me this morning was the realization that God knows what that bee is doing right now. This particular bee–one of a zillion buzzing around our planet–is not unnoticed in God’s sight. The bee has its purpose–pollination, procreation, and whatever it is that bees do–and is necessary to support the balance of nature. Just a little bee. One bee. And he/she has a purpose.

Now imagine how much more God is aware of us. The Bible tells us in Psalm 8 that we were made “a little lower than God” and the New Testament tells us that we will one day be “higher than angels”. There is nothing that we’ll ever go through that God is not aware of and ready to carry us through. Our low expectations of God’s concern for our lives at any given moment ultimately comes from a lack of knowledge of who the Father really is. For if we know Him in His fullness and greatness, then we know how much more precious to Him we are than that bee.

How awesome it is to know that God knows that bee!
